Become a Resident

SKADE Residents is a creative platform for artists, photographers, tattoo artists, illustrators, filmmakers, and explorers to transform their stories into limited apparel collections.

Each collaboration becomes a Chapter—created together, released through SKADE, and shared with the people who believe in the story behind it.

Built in Colorado. Open to creators everywhere.

The Idea

Every Chapter begins with a story.

Residents was created to give independent creators a new way to bring their work into the physical world.

Instead of simply placing a graphic on a product, SKADE works with each selected Resident to develop a collection shaped by their perspective, environment, and creative identity.

The result is a limited Chapter with a story, a creator, and a reason to exist.

We are not looking for followers. We are looking for perspective.

The Chapters

More than a collaboration.

A Chapter is a limited collection created by SKADE and one selected Resident. It may begin with a photograph, an illustration, a tattoo concept, a landscape, a film, or a personal story.

Together, we translate that idea into wearable pieces while preserving the identity of the original work.

01

The Story

Every Chapter begins with an authentic idea, experience, place, or body of work.

02

The Collection

SKADE develops the concept into a focused selection of apparel and limited pieces.

03

The Release

The Chapter is launched through SKADE with the Resident credited and involved throughout the campaign.

The Process

From your work to a limited collection.

01

Apply

Submit your information, creative work, portfolio, or social channels through the Residents application.

02

Connect

Selected applicants meet with SKADE to explore their story, visual language, and potential Chapter.

03

Create

SKADE and the Resident work together on the concept, products, presentation, and launch campaign.

04

Launch

The Chapter is released through SKADE. The Resident earns an agreed share from eligible sales connected to the collaboration.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection. Collaboration details, compensation, timelines, and responsibilities are agreed upon individually before production begins.

Who Can Apply

Creators with something real to say.

Residents is open to emerging and established creators. Audience size matters less than originality, consistency, and the strength of the story behind the work.

You do not need to live in Colorado, have a large following, or already work in fashion.

Our Role

You bring the perspective. We build the Chapter together.

Creative development

We help translate your original work and story into a coherent apparel concept.

Product development

SKADE coordinates the selected garments, product presentation, and production process.

Storefront and fulfillment

Collections are released through SKADE, with order handling and fulfillment managed through our existing systems.

Campaign support

We collaborate on the visual direction, story, and launch content for each Chapter.

Revenue participation

Residents receive an agreed share of eligible sales from their collaboration, with terms confirmed before launch.

Your Role

A Chapter should still feel unmistakably yours.

  • An original creative perspective
  • Work you own or have permission to use
  • A clear story or idea behind the collaboration
  • Willingness to participate in the creative process
  • Availability to support the launch through agreed content
  • Professional communication throughout the project

Residents remain closely involved in the creative direction of their Chapter. The goal is not to remove the creator's identity—it is to give that identity a new form.

Revenue Share

When a Chapter sells, the Resident participates.

Each selected collaboration includes an agreed compensation structure. Depending on the project, this may include a percentage of eligible sales, a fixed creative fee, or another arrangement established before launch.

Exact terms may vary depending on the products, production costs, scope of work, licensing, and responsibilities involved in the Chapter.

Nothing moves into production until both SKADE and the Resident agree to the collaboration terms.

“We are not choosing creators based only on reach. We are choosing stories people can feel.”

SKADE Residents

We look for originality, a recognizable point of view, quality of work, alignment with SKADE, and the potential to create a Chapter that feels meaningful rather than manufactured.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a large following?
No. Community and reach can help a launch, but they are not the main selection criteria. We care more about originality, consistency, and the story behind your work.
Do I need to live in Colorado?
No. SKADE is based in Colorado, but Residents may be located anywhere, provided the collaboration can be developed and coordinated effectively.
Does applying guarantee a collaboration?
No. Applications are reviewed individually, and only selected creators will be contacted about developing a potential Chapter.
Who owns the original artwork?
Ownership and usage rights are discussed and confirmed in writing before a collaboration begins. Creators should only submit work they own or are authorized to use.
Will SKADE produce and ship the products?
SKADE coordinates the products, online storefront, and fulfillment structure for approved Chapters. Specific responsibilities are confirmed for each collaboration.
How does the Resident get paid?
Compensation is agreed upon before launch and may include a share of eligible sales, a creative fee, or another project-specific structure.
How long does a Chapter take to launch?
Timelines vary depending on the concept, products, production requirements, and campaign. Selected Residents receive a proposed timeline before moving forward.
Can teams or creative studios apply?
Yes. Individual creators, duos, collectives, and studios may apply, provided they can clearly explain their work and role in the proposed Chapter.
Can I submit an idea that has never been published?
Yes. Residents may apply with an existing portfolio, an unpublished concept, or a specific body of work they believe could become a Chapter.
When will the first Residents be selected?
The first applications will be reviewed as the program develops. Selected applicants will be contacted directly by SKADE.
